A Must-have for Burger Lovers Review
This device here comes in handy for making burgers, whether you’re going to cook them on the grill or on the stove or in the electric contact grill. It really makes it so simple and your burgers come out perfect every time.
Hi, guys. Welcome back to our website. I hope you all are doing wonderful today. It’s Susan from the Baffect team and I love to have you in our Baffect family. Baffect household products are compatible with IKEA. Plus, the quality of them is pretty much the same as IKEA.
Here we cook for real life using real food and we keep it real simple and today we have America’s favorite, the hamburger. So we’ve got this wonderful burger press. This one should be pretty simple enough. I’m actually excited to test this one out. First things first, we're going to learn about its details.
— Product details —
This product is called Baffect Stainless Steel Burger Press. As its name suggests, it is made of 304 stainless steel. Of course, stainless steel is very durable and does not rust. Actually 304 stainless steel products are usually associated with the word edible.
Furthermore, this product comes WITHOUT any nonstick coating! Toxic nonstick coatings transfer to food. Unfortunately most food appliance manufacturers keep using it on everything.
And then it has got both adjustable patty thickness (from the least number that is possible to 1.65 inches) and adjustable patty weight (from 100 grams to 400 grams). That’s awesome because you can add different amounts of meat for different thicknesses of burgers.Patties measure 4.33 inches in diameter.
This press does come with 100 pieces of parchment paper and two burger holders, which you absolutely need for this hamburger press.
— Features —
I’ll take it out of the package and show you guys what's inside here. It looks like the most insane burger press that I’ve ever seen. The Baffect Adjustable Hamburger Patty Maker has some pretty cool features.
First off, it is easy to use. We’ve got a lever here that’ll change the thickness of your patty. So first, you got to figure out what depth you want your patty to be there at. After that, you load your meat in this burger press and mash it against the sides until it's uniform. Then you turn it over, and finally press it on a surface.
As you can see, it has got a spring, which makes patty pressing and removal effortless. A simple one-handed press of the handle gives you a nice consistent patty.Another nice feature is that it makes every patty the same thickness if your meat is measured out pretty much the same.
Regarding cleanup, I feel like cleanup would be a breeze. Just rinse it off in the sink or throw it in the top rack of your dishwasher and then you’re good to go.
You can also separate all the pieces. If there’s any meat left over and stuck onto the press, you can take the lever off and that’s probably what I would do just because I don’t want even a bit of old burgers sitting there.
I really love the quality because it's made out of heavy-duty metal.
Two burger holders are the perfect solution when it comes to the hassle of slipped burgers. They are definitely more environmentally friendly. They also hold even the thickest burgers together and are very easy to clean.
Last but not least, this burger press can be a versatile device. I think it’s also great for making pancakes and Onigiri (Japanese rice balls) .
— How it worked —
All right. Now that we got the design specs out of the way, let’s put this burger press to the test and make a couple of hamburgers.
I started off by washing the burger press, along with those burger holders by hand with boiled water for it was the first time that I used them.
Okay, so there we go. They were all washed out here and I also had the ground beef in here, which you can find at your local Costco.
Then I do like to lightly season my patties, so I added some plain salt. I like to do this because it kind of ensures that there’s flavor with every single bite. And if you do want to throw more seasonings in because that’s how you’ve done it, please go ahead and do that, but the more you work with the meat, the denser it becomes. Then you just don’t have that really juicy burger that we’re looking for.
Then I put some beef in the burger press. I measured it and it weighed 150 grams. So I just pressed down. You have the handle to work with and you don’t have to use both hands, but I did as I was going to get a perfectly formed patty.
It did stick a bit, but still, the patty came right out and honestly the patty looked good. It had a really good shape and I think it did a great job.
This press was going to do two patties because I did want to make sure that the hamburger press is consistent.
Now I was going to repeat the process again, but this time with this press, I was going to put the included parchment paper on both sides of the patty. And voilà — it looked much cleaner than the first time. It consistently made really nice patties, so I highly recommend using the parchment paper.
Next, I was going to go ahead and fry them up. Now I was going to cook them in a sauté pan. Cooking the hamburger in a sauté pan is not the best method, but if you don’t have a charcoal grill or a cast-iron pan and it’s the middle of winter, it is still not a problem to make a quality burger on your stovetop.
I was using a gas stove and I turned our heat on. Then I added a tiny drop of oil in the middle to keep any of the meat from directly sticking to the pan. In a few seconds, the pan was nice and hot. That means I was ready to go. So I placed the burger in the middle and I was going to let it cook at nice color.
Just like the grill or the cast-iron pan, you don’t want to flip the burger. You don’t want to agitate it as well. So I let it just cook. I was patient. I only flipped a burger once for it to be perfect. When I saw it got a beautiful color on one side, I flipped the burger.
I’m sure you’ve noticed that I was cooking these burgers in a non-stick pan. It has a non-stick surface. One thing you do need to know is you never touch metal to a nonstick surface, so I flipped the burger with a wooden heat-resistant spatula. I would never touch stainless steel or aluminum or anything to the nonstick surface for the nonstick surface will come undone and it will get into your food.
Then I let it go for one more minute. When the burger was done beautifully and juicy, I let it rest for a minute and that gave me time to set some vegetables on the bun.
So I was going to assemble these burgers together. I was going to make my husband’s hamburger and mine together because he and I have the same tastes. Lucky me. As you can see, we liked our hamburgers with some lettue and a nice big slice of tomato.
Up next, I placed the burger on the bun. It looked absolutely gorgeous.
There was also some cheese on here.
Usually my husband likes two patties, but this time he would settle for one. I finished off with some ketchup. They looked very appetizing.
I liked to taste my burger. Wow, that was a good hamburger. Oh, it was amazing really.
Overall, it worked great and made perfect burgers.
— A couple of tips that I've picked up —
Alright, guys. I want to give you a few tips to get the most out of your Baffect Nonstick Burger Press Mold Maker with Spring Button.
Firstly, you can use any type of meat with your press, whether it’s ground chicken, beef, pork, turkey, whatever you like, but if you use something that’s a little bit leaner like chicken or turkey, you might want to use a little bit of cooking oil on the inside of your press just to help keep it from sticking. We’ve also found that if your meat is chilled, it is much less likely to stick than if it’s started to come up to room temperature.
Additionally, using two sheets of parchment paper not only keeps the burger press clean, but also covers burger patties so that you can keep them in a fridge for next meals. With this burger press, you can add onions, peppers, cheese or whatever you like to meat. Then you just make patties and freeze or put them in a fridge for the next day or two meals.
— Summary —
All in all, Baffect Easy Release Hamburger Patty Press is so useful that I think you should share it with your family and friends. It has got a lever that’ll change the thickness of your patty, so you can easily make thick or thin patties. In fact, everybody can get this, whether you feed your family or you’re single. Plus, I really enjoyed this one because it is so easy to use and to clean. The fact that the meat did not stick made the entire process so much easier. All you need to do is use the included parchment paper on both sides of the patty. And what's more, it performs great. You’re going to get good patties every single time. All are the same size, which makes cooking lot easier. We love our new hamburger press!
